New Year’s Wishes for 2013 from Dr. Ahvie

As we leave 2012 behind, I wanted to share a few thoughts and observations from this past year.

While the pharmaceutical industry continues to sell diseases, not cures, at Anatara we try to provide the best in coordinated, integrated health care. Through the convergence of multiple medical traditions, using our different approaches to address difficult medical conditions and health optimization, we are achieving very strong and lasting results—together, as a proactive team.

We remain true to our original principles—that we cannot effectively treat our patients without a strategy. We do not treat laboratory values alone; instead, we ask: What systems need to be modulated to attain the key outcomes we are trying to achieve? What are the fundamental drivers of success and what barriers do we need to overcome to achieve this success? In what order do we deal with specific symptoms, since some are more fundamental than others?

We are now seeing more clients taking longer and longer lists of vitamins and supplements than ever before. After reviewing these lists, we often conclude the need to simplify. We place greater value on observation and listening, adjust to a more limited number of therapies so we can better understand the effects, and always return to the core strategy. This approach often takes more time and patience, but is likely to be more effective in the long-term.

I recently returned from attending a complex surgery for an Anatara client. This was a peak experience for me, demonstrating what integrative and convergence medicine can accomplish. Since we had a few months to prepare for the surgery, we worked on the systems level, optimizing, testing, and making adjustments, to produce positive effects that had not been realized before—accelerated wound healing, ease of response to anesthesia, lack of adverse reactions to the myriad medications given following surgery. By working closely with the team of surgeons before, during and after surgery, we attained life-changing results—results that were not possible in multiple prior attempts.

We also continue to evolve. We have recently added new technologies to our services, including ultraviolet (UV) light therapy, a proven therapy for sufferers of chronic fatigue, shingles, asthma and allergies, many difficult bacterial, viral and fungal infections, as well as other inflammatory states including autoimmune conditions. When combined with our convergent Eastern and European approaches, we are able to develop more comprehensive approaches towards modulating the immune system, the microcirculation and our cellular energy systems. These approaches are designed to reduce inflammation, accelerate our body’s innate repair systems, and decelerate cellular aging.

I would like to encourage you to invite your friends and family members to sign up for our Newsletter. In 2013, I will continue to address many important healthcare issues, helping everyone navigate the growing complexity of our medical system—the good, the bad and the ugly. There are very few places where you can receive a synthesis of Western science balanced with an understanding of alternative care, weighing strengths and limitations of both systems.

In the meantime, we look forward to growing and evolving together, to making a difference, and to empowering you with knowledge about your bodies, your physiology, and your unique archetypes, so that you can take control of your own health destiny and lead it in any direction you desire.

From all of us at Anatara, we wish you a joyful, healthy and fulfilling 2013.
